Hi! My name is Tammy and if you’ve found this website (which you obviously have), then we probably have a few things in common. I’m interested in living a more “eco friendly” or “green” lifestyle. I don’t necessarily want to live “off the grid.” The idea of having to pedal a bike to create enough energy to operate my coffee machine in the morning…that’s not very appealing to me. You’re not likely to find me carrying a sign and protesting the latest environmental snafu, or carrying a petition demanding all our state senators take public transportation to work to set a good example.
Don’t get me wrong, I’m not opposed to activism. It’s just not really my “thing.” What I do want to do is take action in my own life, and share the information and resources I gather along the way with others who want to do the same.
I hope you’ll find this site useful and that it helps you to make small and simple changes in your life that can have a positive impact on the environment. That’s what my goal is for EcoFriendlyBasics.com – with a heavy emphasis on basics. After all, something as crucial as saving the planet doesn’t need to be overcomplicated any further than it already is, right? I believe that a lot more people would begin to make more environmentally-friendly choices if it were easier for all of us to figure out just what the hell it is we can do and exactly how we’re supposed to do it.
I like easy. If you want to make your lifestyle more eco-friendly, then I want to help make that easier for you. In a nutshell, that’s why I blog and that’s why I created this website. Enjoy!
